As part of the World Bank’s mission to monitor the implementation of the Sustainable Landscape Restoration in the Kyrgyz Republic (KG RESILAND) project, a meeting was held with representatives of regional administrations and potential producers interested in producing and promoting their products.
Over 50 potential producers discussed prospects for expanding the One Village One Product (OVOP+1) initiative, opportunities for collaboration, and participation in the project. Producers already working with OVOP+1 shared their experiences and achievements, noting positive changes in their income levels and business sustainability.
During the event, the OVOP+1 program, which has begun active operations in the Osh and Jalal-Abad regions, was presented. The initiative’s main goal is to mobilize local populations to improve economic well-being and sustainable development in project areas.

Participants discussed prospects for further expansion of OVOP+1 activities, mechanisms for supporting women and youth interested in entrepreneurship, and opportunities for sharing experiences between producers.
The event was attended by representatives of the World Bank, the leadership of the Project Implementation Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic, and women entrepreneurs who expressed their willingness to further engage with OVOP+1 and develop their own businesses.
The mission also included a visit to the One Village – One Product brand store in Osh.

Guests were introduced to the range of products produced under the initiative and received detailed information about the activities of the association, which unites local producers.

According to participants, the store’s experience and its marketing model generated great interest and inspired representatives of other communities to develop similar initiatives.
