The event was organised by the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Development Center as part of a cross-border initiative involving Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, with support from international partners including Welthungerhilfe, GIZ and the UK government.
The central exhibit was an 80 kW solar photovoltaic system. Participants from the energy and agricultural sectors reviewed its performance and explored options for feeding surplus electricity into the grid.
Additional technologies on display included heat pumps, drip irrigation systems, solar dryers for agricultural products and solar-powered electric fencing solutions.
Further demonstration sites are planned in the Chui and Osh regions in the coming months. The programme also includes training for technical specialists and support for the development of local supply chains.
Organisers say wider adoption of these solutions could reduce farmers’ costs, improve energy independence and strengthen resilience to climate-related challenges.
