On March 17, at the initiative of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, a scientific and practical conference was held in the Committee’s building within the framework of the International Decade for Action “Water for Sustainable Development, 2018-2028” and World Water Day. The conference was titled: “Use and Protection of the Country’s Water Resources in the Context of Climate Change: Current State and Prospects.”

The conference was attended by the leadership and staff of the Committee for Environmental Protection, representatives of the scientific community, specialists and experts from relevant institutes of the Academy of Sciences, the Ministry of Energy and Water Resources, the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Population, the Ministry of Agriculture, the Housing and Communal Services Committee, the Agency for Hydrometeorology, and other national institutions.

During the event, representatives of the above-mentioned organizations delivered speeches and presentations, outlining planned measures and actions within the framework of the goals of the International Decade for Action “Water for Sustainable Development, 2018-2028.”

Overall, it was noted that such scientific and practical events contribute to the development of mutually beneficial cooperation, the exchange of experience, and the integrated solution of issues related to water resources, ecology, and climate.
