On July 21, 2026, during the state visit of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Emomali Rahmon, to Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, in the presence and with the participation of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon and the President of Mongolia, Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change of Mongolia on strategic cooperation in the areas of pasture restoration, glacier protection, adaptation and resilience to climate change, and desertification reduction.

The heads of state described the results of the talks as promising and promising for strengthening and expanding cooperation between the two countries.
