During a working visit, Tajik President Emomali Rahmon inspected the construction of the Rogun Hydroelectric Power Station dam. He was informed that the dam has already been raised to 1,155 meters above sea level, ahead of schedule, according to the presidential press service.
Previously, the head of state ordered that the dam’s height be raised to 1,155 meters by 2026, and the water level in the reservoir to 1,140 meters.

To date, the construction of the dam core foundation made of compacted concrete with a volume of 293.4 thousand cubic meters has been completed.
Cementation strengthening of the core base was also carried out with the drilling of 3,359 wells, and an anti-filtration curtain was created – 125 wells with a depth of 44 to 149 meters were drilled for it.
Work on the site is organized around the clock, in two shifts. More than 160 pieces of modern equipment and machinery are used daily on the dam’s construction.
Emomali Rahmon also inspected the progress of work at the exit of Transport Tunnel No. 9, which leads to the dam. The site is located at an altitude of 1,300 meters above sea level.
During a meeting with engineering and technical workers, the President emphasized the need to prioritize construction quality and compliance with international standards.
According to him, the facility being constructed is designed for long-term operation and must meet high safety requirements.
