She noted that projects implemented by Azerbaijan in recent years in the field of ecology and alternative energy represent an interesting experience for Turkmenistan.
“Azerbaijan places great emphasis on alternative energy sources (RES). We, too, are taking steps in this direction, learning from your experience. Currently, as part of the second phase of construction in the city of Arkadag, solar energy is being used at major facilities, such as the train station and bus station. During the day, energy consumption at these facilities increases significantly. To reduce the load on the national power grid, solar panels have been installed at these facilities,” she said.
According to her, this approach also helps reduce emissions into the atmosphere.
“During the construction of the city of Arkadag, a rainwater reuse system was created for the first time. The collected rainwater undergoes primary treatment, is then sent to settling basins, and is ultimately used to irrigate the city’s green spaces,” she noted.
She said that groundwater discovered during the city’s construction is also collected through a special drainage system and reused for irrigation.
“Work is currently underway in Arkadag to further treat wastewater and reuse it for irrigation of green spaces. We strive to conserve water resources, as the main sources are underground freshwater reserves and the Karakum Canal,” she added.
