UNDP held a validation roundtable in Bishkek to discuss the draft Biennial Transparency Report

On August 8, in Bishkek, the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology and Technical Supervision of the Kyrgyz Republic, with the support of UNDP in the Kyrgyz Republic, held a validation round table to discuss the draft Biennial Transparency Report (BTR1).
⠀
📣This event was held within the framework of the UNDP project “Support to Kyrgyzstan for the preparation and submission of DDT1 and the Fifth National Communication (NC5) in accordance with the requirements of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC)”.
⠀
📝The report will be the main tool for assessing the country’s progress in reducing greenhouse gas emissions, implementing climate actions and achieving Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs). It will also strengthen the climate governance system, ensure compliance with international standards, improve data quality and enhance the transparency of environmental policies.
⠀
✅The Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology and Technical Supervision of the Kyrgyz Republic coordinates all work. UNDP provides technical and expert support, including methodological support, data analysis and organization of consultations with stakeholders.
⠀
👏The results of the work done were presented to the participants of the round table by the head of the expert group Alexander Temirbekov and the expert on climate financing of the project Nurida Baigazieva. During the work, consultations and working meetings were held in ministries and departments, following which all the proposals received were finalized and agreed upon.
⠀
🚀Based on international methodologies and national experience, experts prepared a draft of DDT1 and presented it for discussion to a wide range of stakeholders – representatives of government and departmental structures, international and non-governmental organizations, the scientific community and independent experts.
⠀
🇰🇬This step confirms Kyrgyzstan’s commitment to the global climate agenda, demonstrating the country’s responsibility and readiness to actively participate in international climate initiatives.
