Uzbekistan, Tashkent – ​​Podrobno.uz News Agency. Representatives of Karakalpakstan discussed with Israeli experts the implementation of innovative solutions for arid regions and adaptation to climate change. The parties agreed to prepare a memorandum on joint projects. 

The online meeting was held with the participation of the leadership of the Israeli center DeserTech and Climate Innovation Center, which specializes in developing technologies for regions with water shortages and desertification processes. 

Representatives of Karakalpakstan, including specialists in the fields of ecology and education, as well as employees of the Uzbek Embassy in Israel, took part in the negotiations. 

The Israeli side presented its developments and experience in creating innovative solutions for regions suffering from water shortages, desertification, and the effects of climate change. 

In turn, representatives from Karakalpakstan spoke about current projects to improve the environmental situation, advance science, and reduce climate risks in the region. 

Following the meeting, the parties confirmed their interest in cooperation and agreed to begin preparing a trilateral memorandum, which will serve as the basis for further joint projects. 

As a reminder , Central Asia is experiencing unprecedented water shortages due to a five-year drought. The period from 2021 to 2025 has become the warmest for the region since 1981, and soil moisture has reached historic lows.
