The Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Kazakhstan commented on the experiment to artificially induce precipitation, reports a Kazinform correspondent.

According to Vice Minister Mansur Oshurbayev, specialists from the World Meteorological Organization were brought in to conduct the experiments. Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Ecology is responsible for meteorological support and environmental safety analysis of the precipitation project.
“This experiment is being supervised by Kazhydromet on behalf of the Ministry of Ecology. Our focus is solely on meteorological data, specifically on the water content of clouds located directly in Kazakhstan,” Oshurbayev said on the sidelines of the Majilis.
According to him, specialists will analyze the precipitation and assess its compliance with environmental standards.
“If they demonstrate full compliance with all standards, no exceedances, and so on, then global practice shows that this is an absolutely environmentally friendly product that can replenish water lost in reservoirs that received less volume during floodwater melt,” the vice minister noted.
He also assured that artificially induced precipitation should not lead to drought in other regions.
“This shouldn’t happen because the clouds located in this region are directly used,” Oshurbaev explained.
As a reminder, in May, the Turkestan region, in collaboration with the UAE National Meteorological Center, launched a project to artificially induce precipitation to increase reservoir filling and provide water to agricultural areas.
