
On March 26 the Tashkent Water Security Forum brought together scientists, policymakers, and practitioners from across Central Asia and beyond to advance dialogue on water governance and climate adaptation.
Under the theme ‘From Knowledge to Action: Enhancing Science and Policy Dialogue for Improved Water Security in Central Asia,’ the Forum emphasized the critical importance of translating scientific knowledge into practical policies and coordinated regional action.
The event featured high-level opening remarks from representatives of academia, government, and international organizations, followed by engaging keynote discussions on water policy and water science. Experts highlighted key challenges and opportunities for strengthening water security in the region.
The Forum continued with dedicated sessions on Water Science – showcasing research, data, and innovative approaches to climate risk management as well as Water Policy – focusing on governance frameworks, cooperation, and water diplomacy
A dynamic panel discussion brought together leading experts and decision-makers to reflect on how science-policy dialogue can better support sustainable water management in Central Asia.
The Forum once again confirmed that effective collaboration between science and policy is essential to address growing water challenges and build a more resilient future for the region.
