The event was organized by the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change of the Republic of Uzbekistan in cooperation with the General Prosecutor’s Office, the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, the Tourism Committee and other partner organizations. It brought together nearly 30,000 participants, including foreign guests, students, families of military personnel serving in Karakalpakstan, and representatives of national cultural centers of the Kazakh, Russian, Korean, Ukrainian and Turkmen communities.

A range of events were held throughout the week, aimed at improving the ecological situation in the Aral Sea region, showcasing the area’s full tourism potential and promoting a healthy lifestyle among youth.

During the international conference “Goodwill Ambassadors of the Aral Region” ,  both international and local experts presented a number of initiatives focused on afforestation, reducing soil salinity, preventing desertification, improving living conditions in the region, and enhancing its tourism appeal. As part of the nationwide “Yashil Makon” (“Green Space”) initiative, a tree-planting campaign was held in the city of Nukus, during which 200 saplings were planted.

In addition, the public health initiative “10,000 Steps”, aimed at promoting an active lifestyle, featured a large-scale walking marathon with around 5,000 participants, as well as a badminton tournament with about 100 young participants competing.

The international gastronomic festival “99 Dishes of the Aral” showcased the culinary talents of chefs from across the country, highlighting the gastronomic richness of the Republic of Karakalpakstan. The winners were Jasur Sobirov from Amudarya district (1st place), Oygali Omarov from Bozatov district (2nd place), and Feruza Razzakova from Ellikkala district (3rd place).

Participants also had the opportunity to explore local heritage sites through excursions to the ancient Mizdakhkan complex in Khodjeyli district, the “Karakalpak Ethno-Village” tourism center, and the State Museum of Arts and History named after Savitsky.

The week concluded with an “Open-air” gala concert featuring stars of Uzbek pop music. The concert brought together youth and promoted values of friendship, unity, and tolerance through music.
