QAZAQ GREEN. The Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to promote clean hydrogen and green growth within the framework of the H2G Initiative.
The agreement aims to strengthen cooperation in the clean hydrogen sector in line with the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Paris Climate Agreement. The parties will collaborate on exploring pilot clean hydrogen and energy projects in Kazakhstan, supporting technology transfer and research cooperation, and facilitating knowledge exchange and capacity building.
Key areas of cooperation include joint technical input into national and global clean hydrogen agendas, support for market deployment and scaling up of clean hydrogen solutions, and networking with relevant national stakeholders to advance Kazakhstan’s green growth objectives.
The memorandum provides for regular consultations and information exchange, while specific projects and financial arrangements will be defined through separate agreements.
The MoU was signed in Seoul on October 15, 2025, for a period of three years. Coordination on behalf of Kazakhstan will be led by Zhaslan Kassenov, Director of the Department for Renewable Energy Sources at the Ministry of Energy.
