The Turkmen leader reaffirmed the country’s unwavering position on preserving the Aral Sea and advocated the creation of a specialized UN program for the Aral Sea basin. President Berdimuhamedov also recalled that 2025, at the suggestion of Turkmenistan, was declared the International Year of Peace and Trust, which coincides with the 30th anniversary of the recognition of the country’s neutrality by the international community.
