The Worldometer portal has published data on water consumption by countries. According to its data, the countries of Central Asia are among the most wasteful countries in the world in terms of water use. The countries spend enormous amounts of water on agriculture and irrigation systems. Due to the deterioration of the system and the initial improper construction of similar systems in the USSR, non-targeted water consumption, according to some sources, ranges from 25 to 45 percent.

Uzbekistan has become the leader in Central Asia, and Kyrgyzstan has become the most economical country. Uzbekistan consumes 54.56 billion cubic meters of water, below is the ranking of countries:

5. Tajikistan 1050 cubic meters of water per person.
