Key goals are outlined until 2030. During this time, harmful emissions will be reduced by 51,200 tons, and green spaces will expand to 30% of the territory. Thanks to filters at factories, the content of hazardous PM2.5 and PM10 particles will be halved. Construction dust levels will drop by 80%, and traffic pollution by 50%.

The new “Yashil Samarkand” project office has been tasked with overseeing these processes. A strict construction regime will be implemented in the city. The state commission will reject any new facilities without water conservation, energy efficiency, and waste sorting systems.

Samarkand’s public transportation and taxi services will be fully electric by 2030, beginning with the purchase of 50 electric buses and the installation of 150 traffic lights. Access to the city center will be gradually restricted for private vehicles, with the creation of pedestrian zones for tourists and a Park & ​​Ride system.

To combat heat and dust, Samarkand will build four artificial lakes, ten fountains, and reconstruct 319 kilometers of irrigation ditches. A 3,532-hectare “green belt” stretching 102.7 kilometers along the New Big Ring Road will also serve as a barrier against hot air.
