On March 13, 2026, a roundtable discussion on “POST COP30: Outcomes and Implications and the Process for Improving the Nationally Determined Contribution” was held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Dushanbe. The event aimed to review the COP30 outcomes and identify their implications for the process of improving the Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC 3.0) of the Republic of Tajikistan.

The event was organized by the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan in cooperation with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and was attended by a wide range of stakeholders, including representatives of government ministries and agencies, development partners, the private sector, civil society organizations, youth, scientific and academic circles, as well as national and international experts.

The round table was opened by the Chairman of the Committee on Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, Mr. Bahodur Sheralizoda, the Ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to the Republic of Tajikistan, Ms. Catherine Smithton, and the UNDP in Tajikistan Resident Representative, Mr. Sudipto Mukherjee.

During the event, national and international experts presented the key outcomes of #COP30, including strengthening the climate finance architecture, increasing financial support, and placing greater emphasis on adaptation. The roundtable also discussed issues related to Tajikistan’s participation in climate negotiations, progress in developing #NDC 3.0, and proposals for strengthening the country’s climate policy, including in the areas of emission reduction, adaptation, strengthening the transparency system (ETF/MRV), and attracting green investments.

It should be noted that this roundtable became an effective platform for exchanging opinions and developing recommendations, playing an important role in strengthening interagency coordination and expanding cooperation between partners to improve the climate resilience of the Republic of Tajikistan.
